New friends and exciting opportunities are just around the corner!

Assistants need to be 21 years old, and need a good driving record if they would like to drive our van.

L’Arche Wavecrest is in the City of Orange, in Orange County, between Los Angeles and San Diego. It has a temperate winter climate, and warm dry summers. We’re 20 minutes from Disneyland, the beach, and 90 minutes from the mountains with snow skiing. 

The community of L’Arche Wavecrest is in the heart of an older family neighborhood community, close to Chapman University, and where many restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores are within two miles. 

L’Arche Wavecrest is comprised of one home, and we are looking to add a new community over the next year. We are the only L’Arche community in the State of California. The next closest L’Arche Community is Portland.

We do have a bus stop in the area, but is difficult to do anything in Southern California without a car.

Our five Core Members are middle aged and of a diverse Christian background. Two are female and three are male. Most have lived at L’Arche for many years and are very much at home here 

We have a House Leader who has been with us a year, and a Professional Services Leader who has been with us two years, and an Assistant who has been with us for years as a volunteer and then staff. Everyone has a minimum of a four-year degree.  

The Executive Director/Community Leader and part-time Administrative Assistant are new to the community in 2016.
