Located in northeast Florida, L\u2019Arche Jacksonville is just 25 minutes from the ocean. A regional business center, it has many museums and cultural offerings. Swimming and surfing are popular at nearby barrier island beaches such as Jacksonville Beach and Neptune Beach. Championship golf courses in the area include Ponte Vedra Beach\u2019s TPC Sawgrass, headquarters of the PGA Tour.\u00a0 Weatherwise, you can expect an average of 220 sunny days a year.\u00a0 The temperature tends to be in the 80\u2019s and 90\u2019s from April to October, with higher humidity.\u00a0 There are milder temperatures the rest of the year. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

Core members at L\u2019Arche Jacksonville are middle-age to senior citizens, most of whom grew up in Florida. Assistants range in age from recent college grads to older adults and hail from six different countries. We have 20 core members and about the same number of assistants to support four homes and one day program.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\u00a0L’Arche Jacksonville has a strong Catholic tradition, even though not all members are Catholic. In the spirit of ecumenism, we welcome people of other Christian traditions and indeed other faiths, or those without faith. \u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

Relationships between assistants and core members are very deep and genuine. The community has a strong spiritual life, many long-term assistants and a strong structural foundation that provides stability, and a new, spacious and modern workshop for daytime activity.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n
